How text sign-up works

7 Votes sends texts only to people who turn them on themselves. Here is the screen they use, in the 7 Votes app and at 7votes.org (Profile › Your area). The switch is off until the person turns it on, and texts are never required to use 7 Votes.

Step by step

1. The person signs up for a free 7 Votes account at 7votes.org or in the 7 Votes iPhone app.
2. In Profile › Your area, they enter their own mobile number.
3. They turn on "Text me the daily note", next to the full consent wording shown above, and tap Save.
4. 7 Votes sends one confirmation text: "7 Votes: You're signed up for the daily note, up to 1 msg/day until Election Day. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel."

We record the time, the number and the exact wording each person agreed to. Reply STOP to any text to opt out, or HELP for help. Program details are in the Terms, and how we handle data is in the Privacy Policy. 7 Votes is a free, nonpartisan service from True the Vote Now.
