Privacy Policy

We store your first name, state and email, the first names of the people you add, and a log of the notes you tap to send (what and when, never the text itself).

Your area (optional)

You can add your ZIP code and mobile number in Profile, and choose to get email or text reminders about deadlines and voting places near you. Each is optional and off until you turn it on. We record when you opt in or out and the wording you agreed to. Only 7 Votes sees this. The person who invited you never does.

Text messages

If you turn on texts, 7 Votes sends the daily note and voting reminders to the number you gave, up to 1 automated text a day until Election Day (November 3, 2026). Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help. Consent is not required to use 7 Votes. We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We never sell or share your mobile number with anyone. See the Terms for the full text program details.

What we never collect

Phone numbers of your friends, your contacts list, voter-file data, party, or how anyone votes. Texts go from your own phone through your own Messages app; we never see them.

What friends share

When a friend taps "I did this" on their page, the person who invited them sees that step checked. Nobody else does.

If a friend asks for reminders

A friend can choose to give us their email for reminder emails from 7 Votes. The person who invited them sees only that they signed up, never the email. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and we never sell or share it.

Leaderboards, teams and cheers (optional)

If you join the leaderboard, other 7 Votes users see the name you choose, your step count, your team and your profile photo if you add one. They never see your friends’ names, your email or how anyone votes. Cheers are preset reactions; there are no comments. You can leave the board or turn off cheers anytime in Profile.

Profile photo (optional)

If you add a profile photo, we store a small copy to show on leaderboards. Anyone can report a photo, which hides it until we review it. You can remove your photo anytime, and deleting your data deletes it.

Security records

If someone trips one of our security limits, such as repeatedly guessing sign-in codes, we keep a short security record of that attempt (IP address, approximate location and network) for up to 90 days to protect the service. We don’t log normal visits.

Deleting your data

Use "Delete my data" in the app at any time. It removes you, your profile photo, your ZIP, mobile number and opt-ins, everyone you added, your send history and any reminder sign-ups from your friends.
